Siegwerk is further expanding its footprint in the United States and Canada through targeted investments.
These focus on increasing production capacity, enhancing operational efficiency, and advancing sustainable infrastructure. The company is underscoring the growing strategic importance of the United States and Canada within its global growth strategy.
As part of its strategic agenda FORMULA 2030, Siegwerk is committed to significantly investing in the modernization and expansion of its global production network to further strengthen its competitiveness and create long-term value for its customers.Â
The company’s latest investments in the region are particularly focused on expanding production capabilities, increasing flexibility, and improving operational resilience.
At Siegwerk’s site in Des Moines, Iowa, several projects are underway to expand capacity and improve operational efficiency. These include the modernization of milling and blending equipment as well as the implementation of new white and color production systems.
This expansion will provide additional storage capacity, primarily to support the site’s solvent-based operations and thus meet the growing demand for flexible packaging solutions. Beyond increasing warehouse capacity, the new facility also provides the flexibility required for future expansion as market needs evolve.
In Morganton, North Carolina, Siegwerk is expanding its technology capabilities by adding water-based and UV-based inkjet production, which is scheduled for completion in 2026. This investment will broaden the company’s capabilities in one of the packaging industry’s fastest-growing technologies. In addition, investments in new milling and blending equipment will further strengthen Siegwerk’s Narrow Web portfolio in the region.
The NC site will also install solar panels funded through Siegwerk’s dedicated Green Fund, enabling it to partially power its operations with renewable energy and contribute clean electricity to the local grid. Further facility and IT upgrades will enhance operational efficiency and customer support.
“FORMULA 2030 is about translating our global strategic direction into concrete regional initiatives that create value for our customers and strengthen our business over the long term,” said Christopher van Laack, President Americas and Group Executive Member at Siegwerk. “By further expanding our regional production network and technology capabilities, we are creating an even more resilient supply base for our customers across the United States and Canada.”
Overall, the latest investments in the United States and Canada demonstrate how Siegwerk is translating its global FORMULA 2030 strategy into concrete regional actions, while responding to evolving market dynamics, customer requirements and regulatory developments.
Through continuous investment in capacity expansion, operational excellence and sustainable infrastructure, the company is strengthening its competitiveness in the long term.
By doing so, Siegwerk not only creates additional value for its customers but also further strengthens its position as a reliable partner for future-ready printing solutions.
